Watching It (The Same Mistakes)

WATCHING IT (THE SAME MISTAKES) by Carroll Bryant

I keep watching this world turn
A place where nobody learns
Making the same mistakes over and over again
Keep getting burned

We hang by a thread everyday
Somebody’s dead and they just can’t escape
Pain in my head, they can’t find the way

I keep watching the sunrise
A time left with no lies
Digging the same graves over and over again
Isn’t it a surprise?

It’s just no wonder that we say
Somebody’s thunder is ours and the same
The heart is the hunter, they just can’t relate

I keep watching my heart cry
A moment when dreams die
Playing it in my thoughts over and over again
Sandy Hook will ask “why”?

We hang by a thread everyday
Somebody’s dead, and they just can’t complain
Pain in my head, they can’t find the way

I keep watching the world turn
A place where nobody learns
Making the same mistakes over and over again
Keep getting burned

I keep watching the sunset
I do it with regret
Making wrong decisions over and over again
Like feeding an old pet

It’s just no wonder that we say
Somebody’s thunder is ours and the same
The heart is the hunter, they just can’t locate

We hang by a thread everyday
Somebody’s dead, and they just can’t escape
Pain in my head, they can’t find the way

No, they can’t find their way

And so another tragedy leaves victims, and so are we
Pointing our finger at everything we can not see
And freedom fights for victory in a communist society
Hiding our agenda in the guise of false belief

Making the same mistakes again
All this pain we must defend
We can’t accept the true insane
Can’t let a death go in vain

Another law to remember?
Christ, don’t we have enough?
What about a law that works like, “Everybody must love”?

Another way to restrict the rights of our fellow man
Just do what you can over and over again?

We are our fellow man

We hang by a thread everyday
Somebody’s dead and they just can’t escape
Pain in my head, they can’t find the way

No, they can’t find their way
