ONE MORE MINUTE – Written by Carroll Bryant
You came without a warning
You left without a trace
All I have to remind me
Is the memory of your face
The beauty of your smile
The shine within your eyes
Had such delightful innocence
It came as a surprise
The voice I heard that came from you
Still trickles through my ears
The water rolling down my face
Is what some people would call tears
But I call it a loneliness
I never felt before
There is no doubt about it
And now I’m really sure
If I had just one more minute
I would tell you what I’ve always wanted to say
From the first time that I saw you
Never before have I ever felt this way
I can still remember
The day we said goodbye
I fought off confusion
As of yet I don’t know why
I should have just grabbed you
And held you endlessly
I didn’t want to be too aggressive
That is just not me
But why do I feel inside
That I lost what I found?
Stolen by an unknown thief
Taken without a sound
But if I had just one more minute
I would tell you what I’ve always wanted to say
From the first time that I kissed you
Never before have I ever felt this way
Now the hardest part is over
When I had to let you go
The emptiness I feel inside
Is something you’ll never know
So I keep on believing
That I will see you again
Are we just beginning?
Or did we have the end?
I hope I wasn’t dreaming
But then again, who cares?
Because facing mornings without you
Is like facing reality’s nightmare
So can I have just one more minute?
So I can tell you what I want to say?
From the first time I ever held you
Never before have I ever felt this way
What I wouldn’t do for one more minute
So I can tell you what I really want to say
From the first time I ever saw you
Never before have I ever felt this way
So could I please have just …. one more minute?
